Stand tall

Be yourself

The world needs the authentic you

No not like that

That’s much too loud

Be a little sweeter

I stood tall

I chose me

I let my colours shine

Softly at first

But then quite brightly

It felt so good to be true

Now I’m burnt

Those comments hurt

That shoulder was so cold

But what’s the cost

Of not standing tall

being this version so true

That cost is greater

So here I go

This time I’ll give it my all

I hope there’s more than a little space

In your heart

And in the world

There’s so much beauty coming

If only you’ll let it in

It may not look as you expected

But there it is anyway

That girl, she didn’t conform

And look what she became
